• Upper Respiratory Tract Surgery

  13-14 November 2025 – León, Spain

  This course is intended for ECVS/ACVS Diplomates, equine practitioners specializing in surgery and surgical Residents. The aim of this course is to acquire and/or improve surgical skills related to laryngoplasty, laryngeal tie-forward surgery, laryngotomy, and associated surgeries. An update of exercising upper airway endoscopy and larynx ultrasound will also be presented.

  Theory Topics Covered:

  • Exercising and static endoscopy of upper airway
  • Anesthesia and analgesia in standing procedures
  • Ultrasound of larynx
  • Ventriculocordectomy
  • Laryngoplasty
  • Tie-forward
  • Gutural pouch anatomy and surgery for mycosis and empyema
  • Sino-nasal anatomy and diagnostic imaging
  • Sinus trephination and sinoscopic evaluation/surgery
  • Sinus osteotomy

  Practical Skills:

  Hands-on training includes:

  • Ventriculocordectomy
  • Laryngoplasty
  • Tie-forward
  • Gutural pouch surgery
  • Sinus surgery – trephination, MSB perforation (sinoscopy), sinus osteotomy
